Which trades do you associate with danger on the worksite?

Roofing contractors and scaffolders spring to mind, mainly because of the heights they work at.

Another one to add to the list is air conditioning contractors.

Here in Australia our workplace health and safety laws would prevent many of the things pictured below from happening, but in some countries it would appear to be open slather.

Enjoy this short gallery of air conditioning contractors well and truly living on the edge.

Air con installers 1

The old ‘legs around the head’ hold should work okay, but if not at least the guy on the left has a good grip on the bloke’s jumper.

Air con installers 2

The text book method from the first photo has been used again perfectly.

Air con installers 3

I hope these boys have harnessed themselves as well, and not just the compressor unit.

Those brackets would want to be pretty sturdy…

Air con installers 5

Impressive agility.

Air con installers 6

Quite a few floors up with no harness. Those bare toes are gripping on pretty tightly by the look of it.

Air con installers 7

A door as a work platform. Not too bad!

Air con installers 8

No shoes or shirt required.

Air con installers 9

Looks like he may be wearing a harness, which is a good thing as that would potentially be a fatal fall.

Air con installers 10

Another potentially fatal fall height, and another guy hoping that the brackets are very securely attached to the wall.

Air con installers 11

I don’t know how many floors up this guy is, but I’d guess quite a few.

Air con installers 12

And here’s a close up. Surely there’s a better way to do this?

Air con installers 13

Looks like he’s riding this one.

Air con installers 14

Wow.

Living life on the edge.

Air con installers 16

Another guy relying on the strength of the brackets. According to the original article he was three stories up.

Air con installers 17

Hanging on for dear life.

We may laugh at some of these photos, but these are real people putting themselves in very real danger.

We totally understand that sometimes you have to do what it take to get the job done, however you also need to remember to do what it takes to ensure you make it home each night.
