How do we help electricians?

Unlike other insurance brokers who might deal with one electrician a week, we’re dealing with multiple sparkies every day.

We deal with more electricians than any other trade, and that constant work means we’re fully across any industry trends and changes in insurance requirements.

There are four main stages we go through when assisting our electrical clients.

Step 1: Understanding your business

We’re not interested in just handing out quotes and selling insurance policies.

We want to understand your electrical contracting business and recommend the appropriate policy or policies that cover your risks.

Of course as insurance brokers we’ll also be looking to get the best possible price for you, but only for cover that is appropriate for your needs.

We know how much effort and energy goes into growing a business, and there’s no point throwing it all away by not having the right insurance in place.

So before we do anything we need to understand your business and the risks it faces. Then we can recommend the types of insurance you need, and which policies are going to be the most competitively priced.

Step 2: Being your trusted adviser

If you choose to accept our advice and become a Trade Risk client, you’re now part of our family and we’ll do everything to look after you.

You’ll have a dedicated account manager (who is also a qualified insurance broker) and you’ll have their mobile number and email address to contact any time you need them. There are no call centres here!

If you’re running a growing business, insurance is never a “set and forget” proposition. Your business is constantly evolving, and you need to keep in touch with your broker to ensure your insurance is keeping up with you.

That doesn’t mean continually having to invest more in insurance. It just means keeping us updated so we can ensure your policies are still covering the new types of work you might be expanding into.

Step 3: Managing claims

The truth is we hope you never need to claim, but if you do, we’ll be here fighting in your corner.

As insurance brokers we don’t pay the claims, but it is our job to manage the claim and to be your advocate during the claims process.

It’s important to remember that we are your insurance broker – which means we are acting for you, and not for the insurance company. It’s a very important distinction.

Step 3: Renewals

You shouldn’t have to run around every year wondering if you’re getting a good deal on your insurance renewal. That’s our job.

As insurance brokers we have access to dozens of different insurance companies and specialist underwriters. If your premiums look like increasing as we approach your renewal date, we kick into action and start looking for a better deal.

Because we’re dealing with multiple electrical contracting companies every day, we have a finger on the pulse and know what’s happening with the insurers.

If one insurer changes their pricing or their policy exclusions for electricians, we’ll know about it very quickly and can move renewals around as required.

We want you to be able to trust us year in, year out. It’s the reason why many of our electrician clients have been with us since year one.

You don’t need to shop around or wonder if we’re doing the right thing. We want to prove to you that we are, so that you can concentrate on growing your business instead of worrying about your insurance costs.

If that sounds like the type of relationship you’d like to have with your business insurance broker, please call us on 1800 808 800 to get started.
