Thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic a lot of businesses are struggling with reduced income.
The government is helping businesses financially with the Jobkeeper payment, which can provide up to $1,500 per fortnight per eligible employee for up to six months.
We won’t all get it though… Small businesses will need to have suffered a drop in turnover of at least 30% compared to the same month in 2019.
Although we’re not experts on the matter, it does affect us, and we’ve put together some resources that we hope will be useful for tradies and other business owners.
We’ve put the source of the information at the beginning of each link, just so you know where the info is coming from.
ATO: Jobkeeper payment for employers
ATO: Jobkeeper payment for sole traders
ATO: Turnover tests

Treasury: JobKeeper Payment – Frequently asked questions
JobKeeper and payroll systems
If you’re using Xero for your payroll and are (or will be) receiving the Jobkeeper payment, this guide runs through how to process it:
Xero: Process Jobkeeper Payments
If you’re a MYOB user, here’s the guide for you:
MYOB: COVID-19 wage subsidy (JobKeeper) payments
Here at Trade Risk we can’t help with any JobKeeper related questions, but we at least hope that linking to the resources above will be of some assistance.
We hope that you, your family and your business can make it through this tough time. The good times will return!
