Although Calibre are not a household name in Australia, they are one of the country’s largest insurance agencies specialising in business insurance.
Some tradies may know them better by their previous name, which was Calliden.
Calliden was established in Australia around 2005 and was listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) before it was acquired in 2015.
The business insurance division was acquired by the Munich Re Group, which is one of the largest insurance groups in the world.
All policies provided by Calibre are underwritten by Great Lakes Australia. Great Lakes holds an Australian Financial Services Licence and is regulated by the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA).
What does all of that mean to you? It means your insurance is backed by some pretty serious global strength, whilst also being regulated by the Australian Government.
